Terms of Use

1. Description of Service

Japanese Shikhi (japaneseshikhi.com) is an online Japanese learning platform for Bangladeshi learners — lessons, kanji, reading, listening, SRS review, mock exams and an AI tutor covering JLPT N5 to N1. By creating an account or using the site you accept these terms.

2. Account and Registration

  • You must register with accurate information (email or Google Sign-In)
  • Keeping your password secure is your responsibility
  • One person may use one account — account sharing is not allowed
  • Users under 13 require parental consent
  • Mock exams require a signed-in account

3. What the free plan includes

  • The complete N5 content — vocabulary, grammar, kanji and kanji mind maps, reading, listening
  • The first 5 N5 mock tests and the first 5 N4 mock tests
  • Kana, SRS review, quizzes, streaks, XP and achievements
  • Chapter explanation videos are not included — they are a paid feature at every level
  • The AI tutor is not included
  • N4 through N1 learning content requires a paid plan

4. Progress saving limits on free accounts

On a free account, newly created practice data (SRS reviews, quiz and mock results, saved words) is stored for a limited window:

  • New practice data is saved for 21 days from the start of your free window
  • After that the account is frozen — you can keep studying and practising, but new results are no longer saved
  • 30 days after freezing, that practice data may be deleted
  • Upgrading at any time restores saving and makes it permanent

Access to the free learning content is never affected — only the saving of new progress.

5. Paid plans

  • Premium (1 year) — N4, N3 and N2 content, the grammar video lessons for those levels, all mock exams at every level, AI tutor with a daily limit, permanent progress saving
  • Pro (3 years) — everything in Premium plus N1 content, N1 grammar videos and higher AI limits
  • Lifetime (one-time) — everything in Pro (higher AI limits included), with no expiry

Buying again while a plan is active adds the remaining days to the new term; an account is never moved to a lower plan. When a plan expires the account returns to the free plan, and the free content remains available.

6. Mock exams

  • Premium, Pro and Lifetime plans include every mock exam from N5 to N1 — no separate purchase needed
  • Per-level mock bundles are no longer sold; bundles bought earlier keep working, including mock exams added later to that level

7. Payment, pricing and refunds

  • Payments are processed through a secure payment gateway — bKash, Nagad, Rocket and debit/credit cards
  • All prices are in Bangladeshi Taka (BDT) and include applicable taxes
  • No plan or bundle auto-renews — renewal is always a deliberate action by you
  • Refunds: requests must be made within 7 days of payment and the paid content of that plan must not have been accessed
  • Mock bundles bought earlier are non-refundable once any mock exam of that level has been started
  • We may change prices, but changes never affect a term you have already paid for

8. AI tutor

  • The AI tutor is available on Premium, Pro and Lifetime; it is not part of the free plan
  • Daily message limits apply per plan and reset at 9:00 AM Bangladesh time
  • Usage and technical signals (such as IP address) may be checked to prevent abuse
  • AI answers can be wrong — verify anything important
  • Do not send personal or sensitive information to the AI tutor

9. Certificates

Completing every mock exam of a level earns a Japanese Shikhi completion certificate. It is our own platform recognition — it is not an official JLPT certificate and is not a substitute for sitting the JLPT.

10. Acceptable Use

The following activities are prohibited:

  • Sharing, renting or selling accounts
  • Copying, downloading or redistributing lessons, mock questions, audio or video
  • Automated scraping, bots or unauthorised use of our APIs
  • Creating multiple free accounts to work around limits
  • Harmful behaviour toward other users
  • Using the AI tutor to create inappropriate or illegal content

Breaking these terms may result in a limited or closed account, and no refund is due for a deliberate violation.

11. Intellectual Property

All Japanese Shikhi content (lessons, mock questions, audio, video, images, code) is protected by our intellectual property rights. You get a limited licence for personal, non-commercial study; it is not transferable and ends when your account closes.

12. Changes to the service and plans

We may change or update content, features and plan structure — new levels, new mock exams and new features may be added. No change reduces the core access of a plan you have already paid for, for the term you paid for. Users will be notified in advance if the service is permanently discontinued.

13. Limitation of Liability

Japanese Shikhi does not guarantee success on the JLPT. The platform is an educational aid — final results depend on your own effort. For interruptions caused by technical faults, maintenance or third-party outages, our liability is limited to the fees you paid.

14. Governing law and contact
